Pork & Pear Stew For Cold Days

Steynsburg pork

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 kg pork shoulder, cubed
  • Salt & pepper
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 pears, sliced
  • 2 potatoes, cubed
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 3 cups chicken stock
  • 1 tbsp thyme
  • 1 splash white wine (optional)

Instructions

  • Brown pork in oil. Remove.
  • Sauté onion, add pork back in.
  • Add pears, potatoes, carrots, stock, thyme & wine.
  • Simmer 1–1.5 hours until tender.
  • Serve with crusty bread.
